Hayden Benson '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Hayden Benson and I am a 5’5” point guard from La Farge WI. High School. I just completed my sophomore year as the starting point guard for our varsity girls’ basketball team. I finished the season with 12.3 PPG, 2.6 SPG, and 3.7 APG and was honored to be selected First Team All-Conference for the second year in a row. I strive to be successful on the court, but more importantly in the classroom, I currently have a 3.85 GPA.

I am blessed to be the daughter of a varsity girls’ basketball coach. This rare opportunity has allowed me to spend countless hours in the gym, taught me to dribble a basketball as soon as I could walk, developed a strong passion and knowledge of the game, and has given me the opportunity to practice at a young age with the Varsity girls. I feel I have a strong knowledge of the game, but also realize there is always more to learn! I have that drive to continue to learn and grow as a person and a player! My years of experience and dedication in the gym provided me with the comfort and ability to be a leader on the varsity team as a freshman. One of my strengths that I am very proud of is my ability to motivate and lead my teammates.

My dream is to find an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the court. At this time in my High School career, I am open to exploring campuses of all levels and in all areas of the country as long as they have an excellent reputation in the field of Sports Medicine. It is also very important that the girls’ basketball program feels more like a family.

On the court, I will strive to be a dynamic player, a strong asset, and a positive influence on the team. I have been raised to conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the court knowing that the way I carry myself reflects on my team, my coaches, and the school I attend.
