Basketball is the love of my life next to God. My mom played college basketball and she is a longtime High School coach for Milwaukee Public Schools. I have watched Rachel Story, Sarina Simmons, Shenita Landry and Stephaine Crosley play since I was a young child hence all of them play Division 1 Basketball.
At the age of 9, I decided I wanted to play so I asked my mom Coach Alina Cunningham to be my coach. She laughed and so I told my granny and my mom had to create the Diamonds Elite aau team. Basketball has taught me lifelong lessons as well how to compete with teamwork. Basketball also teaches you to be a thinker on and off the court. Any basketball player knows you put the student before athlete. I have been working hard in the classroom as well as on the court.
I have gained sisters from my very first aau team and now my high school squad. These friendships are priceless because you now have extended family members to lean on from time to time. Basketball is a tool that could help me get a free education. My academic goal for high school is to maintain a 3.100 or better and stay in the top 10 for assist in the state of Wisconsin. As far as college is concerned I’m open to any college that will make it happen at no cost to my parents. As a freshman point guard I was thrown into the fire this season due to preseason injuries. I feel I handled it well with the help of God, my teammates and coaches. I was an All Conference selection and averaged 11.7 and 5.7 assist during my first year in high school.
As far as my personality is concerned; I am a creative writer, a comedian and drama actress. I am friendly and get along with just about everyone I encounter.
