My name is Nicole Robison, and I am in my 5th year of club volleyball. Before I got serious with volleyball, I played many other sports, including tennis, soccer, softball, basketball, and track. Although I enjoyed playing in these other sports, volleyball was my true passion; the thrill of getting a kill or picking up a dig, combined with the mental toughness required for the sport, provided me with an activity that was not only fun, but challenged me to be a better person, on and off the court. From the start, I knew I wanted to take my game to the very top by playing in a Division I volleyball program, and one day the Olympics. I hold high standards for myself in all aspects of life: in school by maintaining straight As; socially by creating lasting relationships with teachers, coaches, and peers; and on the court by pushing myself to lead the team to the best of my ability.
This year as a freshman, I played on the varsity team as a setter and outside. On the club level, I have set and hit rightside for the past five years. I am honored to say that I am part of the first team from St. Pete Volleyball Club's history to have qualified for Junior Olympics by winning the Disney Volleyball Showcase on March 18th. I believe that working hard and having a good attitude is the most important aspect in being successful, and are the two core values I try my hardest to do when I play. I am looking to play in the best collegiate program I can get a scholarship for. Academics are a very important aspect in my college selection, and would love to attend a school that has a study abroad program.
