I have always pushed myself to be the best version of me that I can be. Academically, I take great pride in making sure that I am learning and working at the highest level. I started in the gifted program when I was in second grade and then attended the gifted magnet program at Thurgood Marshall Fundamental Middle School. I made a goal for myself in middle school, that I wanted to attend St. Petersburg High School International Baccalaureate Program. Many people tried to discourage me by saying the work load would be too hard and I would never have time for a social life but I never listened. I'm never one to shy away from a challenge! I worked hard and was accepted into the IB program at St. Pete High. I currently hold a 4.2 GPA. I have always set high academic goals for myself and will continue to do so. I strongly believe that no goal is too high because working hard to achieve your goals makes you a better version of yourself and that is my ultimate goal! I want to attend a college that will continue to challenge me and push me to grow as a person.
On the field, I am always looking to challenge myself as a player. My goal is to continue to train hard and develop my skills to play at the highest level. Throughout my eight years of playing competitive soccer I have had to make several sacrifices in order to succeed. Most teenage girls wouldn't say no to a sleepover so they could get in the extra private training, or miss their freshman Homecoming Dance for a game. I feel soccer helps me to be different than most teenage girls. It has taught me valuable life lessons that I couldn't learn elsewhere, like; you have to work hard for what you want in life. Putting in the extra work has never been an issue for me considering it keeps me doing what I love! My strengths as a soccer player comes from my leadership abilities on the field and off, my vision of the field and my ability to distribute the ball and create plays. I believe that I would be a great asset to a college soccer program because of my commitment to continue to develop as a player, my leadership qualities and my love and spirit for the game.
