Sport is a language in my family, as both of my parents competed professionally in their individual sports. My father playing professionally in France while getting his PHD in Law made me realize that it was possible to perform in both academics and sport if you put your mind to it. Volleyball was in my family, but I started properly playing at around 12 years old and at 14 I was already choosing beach volleyball over indoor. My determination and perseverance in practices, tournaments, and academically has made me set high goals for myself such as obtaining a scholarship to play Division 1 Beach Volleyball and playing professionally after that if that is still what I envy after finishing my studies. For my senior year I will be in Chicago, where I hope I will continue to progress in beach volleyball while performing in academics. I hope that being in the US will make me be able to have an exposure to more universities. I have learnt a lot from myself this year by having some personal problems that made me refine my goals. By overcoming those problems with sport and overall positive self-improvement, I discovered how perseverant, strong and determined I was. I think these three values that I was able to shape into the person I want to become will be a great fit with a university that shares these same values.
