Personal Statement

My goals are to continue to play Volleyball at a high level in College. I am drawn to Colleges and Universities that have a Liberal Arts focus as I am interested in Phycology for a major. I like serving others and helping especially after the pandemic and all the mental health needs. I am a leader and a driven competitor.  I am captain of my high School (3 years) team and a leader on my club team with finishing at Nationals 2021 in 5th place.  I was unable to play early in 2021 due to COVID and having a vulnerable family member.

I joined a former team  (Impact MN) that lost a player later in April and went to Nationals where we took 5th a couple weeks ago. I have strong vertical jumping skills as well as placement as a outside. I also play middle blocker and setter when needed.

Programs that are committed to developing players and know the value of academics for students athletes interest me the most.

I have been evaluated as mid major D1 player and want to play at the most competitive level possible. I love a challenge and thrive under pressure and I believe with the right environment and coaching my potential is limitless.

Finally, I am committed to growing as a person and player and know that College is a  big time for that. That said, my training all COVID, Spring and Summer as focus on working on my skills, conditioning and stretch.  I workout 4-5 days per week and with a trainer, 3 of those days. I am willing to be coached, learn and accept feedback and implement it in my game and grow!

I always want to get better.

Feel free to contact my Coaches for more information.

Sincerely,

Grace Travis
