My accomplishments on the court as well as in the classroom make me very proud. Being a nationally ranked junior-beach volleyball player and an integral part of the Oak Ridge High School Varsity Volleyball team are extra special accomplishments to me. Especially over the last year, as most of the hard work preparing for tryouts and the season were done by myself during quarantine and continued COVID restrictions. During the time alone, I realized how much I have learned from the people and experiences while playing volleyball. I would not be the player I am today had it not been for the coaches and teammates. While indoor volleyball was my first love, beach volleyball is my true love and beach players are, without a doubt, my “tribe”.
Competing (along with all of the extra demands) required to play at the highest level possible motivates and sustains me. My time studying under Cameron Sitler and Jon Wilson at Third Coast Volleyball Club has been a godsend. Being on the College Prep and Club Travel Teams has challenged me in ways I did not expect. It has pushed me to draw from my diverse indoor experience on top teams (school & club) in multiple positions and high volleyball IQ to enhance my skills as a strong defender and trained me to be a well-rounded player and a force on the court.
I have learned how to successfully manage being a student athlete while competing at a high-level. When considering my next steps, I looked back at where my desire, drive, and determination has gotten me thus far. I am certain and excited about playing the sport I love at the next-level while pursuing my college education.
