Personal Statement

My name is Reese Norton and I am from Austin MN. I participate in Highschool diving for Austin Highschool, and Club diving in Rochester, MN for Rochester Dive Club. I am very interested in diving in College and am interested in any Division (1-3). I have a hard work ethic and push myself to do and be the best I can. I also love to push and be pushed by my team mates whom I get along with very well. I do well in school as well as in the pool. I am (as of 9/28/2022) #6 on my Highschool teams top 10 list for 6 dives with a score of 226.10. When I am on the side of the pool waiting for my turn I love dancing and hyping myself up as I think through my next dive. I am good at creating healthy and strong connections with my coaches and team mates. In school I typically get all A's with the occasional B or two. I set a mindset for myself that pushes myself to go beyond average to expand my skills in the pool and knowledge in school. Breaking a personal record or throwing a new dive and succeeding is one of my favorite feelings because it makes me feel like my hard work has paid off and it brings me lots of joy and makes me continue the path of trying new things or "going for the next level". Diving in college is a dream and goal of mine that I would love the chance to achieve!
