My goal is to attend a college where I can be a top contributor with strong diving skills to compete towards winning NCAA Championships. I want to be a part of a great team of swimmers and divers that works hard together to achieve team goals while having fun in the process.
I am currently an 11th grade student at Community School of Davidson in North Carolina. I joined my Club Team, Carolina Diving Academy, in 2020 when I was in 9th grade. I was previously a USAG JO Level 7 competitive gymnast. I then transitioned to be a USAG Trampoline & Tumbling (T&T) Level 8 competitive gymnast, qualifying for Level 9 when Covid hit in 2020. It was at this time, I decided to change sports and further my tumbling skills by pursuing diving, a sport that is new and exciting to me and now my sole focus. My gymnastics background made transitioning to diving a smooth process, allowing me to quickly learn and progress early on with a full list of 1m and 3m dives. I was able to place at the USA Diving Region 2 Championship, earning a spot at the Zone A Championship. I competed at the AAU Nationals to continue working on achieving my high goals. I also dive as a varsity athlete on my high school dive team, where I serve as the Team Captain. As a Freshman, I had set a new school team record and was recognized with the Most Improved Award. As a Sophomore, I improved my NCHSAA Regional score by over 200 points from the previous years Regionals, which shows my high level of determination. I attended the US Open Championship in Midland, Texas to gain additional experience competing against top college divers. Diving motivates me to continuously challenge myself to be the best athlete that I can be. I have also developed great relationships among my diving community, including my coaches, CDA teammates from various other area schools, and other diving competitors while at meets.
In addition to my diving commitments, I love children and volunteer as a Childcare Teacher Assistant at my local church to give back to my community. I also enjoy providing excellent customer service and work at a Women's Warehouse Clothing Store as a Fashion Sales Consultant to earn money to donate to great causes. All the while, I take honors and NC Virtual courses in school to accommodate my diving schedule and work hard to maintain good grades. When I am not busy with diving, school, and work, I enjoy creating art, baking, outdoor recreation, playing with all of my pets, and spending time with my family.
