My diving career started a short time ago when after a long debate and consideration, having performed for over 10 years and reaching level 9, I ended my gymnastics career.
I am fortunate to have listened to others in similar situations, family and friends, who guided me towards diving knowing that my competitive drive combined with the transferable skill sets learned both physically and mentaly would prove valuable as a competitive diver, and with these skill sets such as air and body awareness and being strong mentally, I was able to pick up on diving quickly.
Managing 25+ hours of weekly workout and conditioning, maintaining and prioritizing studies, being a friend and respecting family commitments were all attributes and values that I have learned to prioritize into my daily life and continue to do while diving.
My aspiration has transitioned into becoming a Division 1 diver within the NCAA. The disciplines of my work ethic, combined with perseverance and a vibrant personality will differentiate me across athletics and academics alike. I feel strongly that the challenges and obstacles I have overcome with injuries and setbacks have given me the foundation to be successful not only in athletics but also in life.
