As the oldest sibling of four sisters, I have always been a team player. The team environment has been very important to my life, as I have been on a gymnastics team since I was in the first grade. Being a high level athlete since I was little, I have grown up in a competitive atmosphere and found that I thrive in any team environment. I would describe myself as a natural leader and I put my skills to practice as the captain of my high school and club gymnastics team my junior year and upcoming senior year. As gymnastics has been a big part of my life, dive came into play my freshman year because of my gymnastics skills. Being curious about other sports, a local diving board became a fun summer activity with my family. My curiosity lead me to join my high school dive team hoping for another fun hobby. Little did I know, it became more than just a hobby.
Being a dual athlete, I had not put in any extra practice outside of the high school season until recently. I still achieved high success by making it to state each year, and my Junior year placing third. My untapped potential is still growing as I am now making the switch of putting diving as my priority. Sports in general have been a huge part about what makes me, me. With my forever busy schedule, I have learned to manage my time in order to be successful in the classroom as well. Putting all that I have into everything I do has helped me earn my 3.9 GPA which has included many AP and college level classes.
One unique aspect of myself is I am bilingual in Spanish, and I look forward to how this will play in my interest of a future career in business. I have learned that I am a very goal oriented person, and I will not rest until I put everything I have into achieving my goals. One of those goals being diving in college. Sports has taught me to accept the bad days and look to everything that is good in order to improve myself each day, and I want to continue with that attitude in any college I am lucky enough to attend.
