Isabella (Izzy) Essler '22 Recruiting Profile

As a young girl I was never interested in sports. I chose the route of theatre and dance instead. However, when I was thirteen I Started playing golf with my dad as a way for us to spend time together. Somewhere along the road I ended up really enjoying the game and gained aspirations to play in high School and eventually college. I have only been playing seriously for around 2 years and I cannot believe the athlete I have become. I am always striving to improve my game and my swing  and I do not give up easily. Over the past two years I have had multiple instructors and coaches who despite their different teaching methods have all told me that I take direction very well.  I look at each round I play as an opportunity to evaluate my strengths and weaknesses and decide what I can improve for the next time. In the near future I hope to play golf in college while studying forensic psychology.
