November 2017 Personal Statement
My love for the game of golf came when I was 7 years old and my father was driving by a golf range in Murrieta, CA. Coincidentally, it was the range in which Rickie Fowler grew up on. We stopped and met a coach named John Wallace and ever since then I have been playing competively. For the first six months, all I did was putt. Now I average 28 putts per round.
My collegiate goals and aspirations are to earn a scholarship to a top notch division 1 golf program and achieve All American and All academic honors. I am a hard worker and have the ability to adjust in tough situations. I have been playing tournament golf the last 8 years and currently play from 6000 yards or more in 20 two day tournaments a year.
I currently practice 10-12 hours a week on the course and at the range while maintaining a 3.7 GPA of in advanced classes.
My ability to focus on academics, while competing at a high level in golf is one of my strongest assets. In addition, being a team player and focusing on commitment to the team is the key to being a strong and confident player.
I am confident, I can bring my abilities to a strong collegiate golf program and in turn learn from my coach and upperclassmen.
