Hi, my name is Kyndra Johnson, I am currently a junior at Salida High School, in Colorado. I take everything I do very seriously and have an incredible work ethic. Academically, I am currently ranked #1 in my class and I am very passionate about my studies.
During my freshman year, I tore my ECU Tendon, in my wrist, during weights class at school. My determination allowed me to play through the injury my freshman season, and I placed tenth at state. After the season I had a major wrist surgery and was unable to play until the beginning of my sophomore season. During my sophomore season, I won our Tri-Peaks league and helped our team come in first overall. I also won regionals and qualified for the Colorado 3A State Championship where I placed 3rd. During my first two high school golf seasons, I was voted Player of the Year for my team, 1st Team All-Conference, and 1st Team All-State. I was also voted team captain in both seasons.
I continued to push myself to get better. I began working with a new golf coach and made some major swing changes. I played the summer season in the middle of the swing change which was challenging. Now that I am 100% healthy, I have been working with a strength and conditioning coach and my swing coach regularly. I finally feel like my swing and strength are back to where I want them to be. I am excited to start the 2024 golf season, and I feel like I have made a lot of progress over the winter. I am a very hard worker, and my determination to succeed separates me from others. Entering my junior season, I look to push myself to improve and start looking toward my college career.
