My life changed when I first picked up a golf club around the age of 11. My grandpa somehow convinced me to come and play a round with him, whom I personally have a hard time saying no to. My first swing -with true beginners luck- went roughly 127 yards onto a par 3 green, I knew from then on that golf was going to be fun; as I also later learned that day, it was going to be a challenge.
I've come a long way in golf; from doing the sport as a hobby with my grandpa, to playing for middle school, then becoming #1 on my high school team in my freshman year. Now, here I am, about to go into my senior year in high school, and I want to go the rest of the way for my grandpa, my family, my coach, and for myself. I have good grades in school, as I just ended my junior year with a weighted GPA of 3.8. Nonetheless, I know I will continue to improve not only in school, but in golf as well. I'm writing this July 12, 2021; the same day I finally broke my previous best score of 81 with a score of 74.
I look forward to my future, as I hope to be able to help animals medically or by communicating to people how animals are not as dangerous as the stereotypes make them out to be. I only hope that on my journey through college I will be able to be on a golf team, grow my talent on the golf course and be a supportive teammate.
