Hi Coaches! Thanks for your time! My name is Margaret S. Quartey and I am a junior at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School. I'm an international student from West Africa (Monrovia, Liberia to be precise), I've been in the United States for three years and I've played golf for three years. I have my uncle to thank for introducing me to such a sport which I've taken ownership of and made my own. I play on my school golf team, I've participated in a total of five golf tournaments, three school tournaments,s, and two tournaments outside of school.
Over the course of years that I have played golf, I can tell you that I am a strategic player. I'm able to plan ahead and weigh my options before making a decision, both in my daily life and on the golf course. Admittedly, I did not understand the game of golf when I first started playing it, but after three years of consistent practice, I've realized the importance and benefits of golf. I now know that being a golfer requires physical and mental strength. Having the right attitude on the golf course and range puts me in a great position mentally and helps boost the confidence of my teammates. I don't dwell on the past, I learn the lesson needed to be learned and apply it in the future in order to not make past mistakes. I am a great listener and I'm always open to correction and suggestions because being part of a team means being open to suggestions of improvements that will benefit not just me but also my teammates.
I believe that my ability to use these traits properly and my dedication to the game of golf will enable me to be a great addition to a college team in the future. Thanks again for your time! and Have a wonderful day.
