My goal is to play college golf where athletics are not considered more important than academics. I plan to pursue a degree in communications and sports marketing and hope that a college golf experience will enhance my career options.
I play on a talented and deep high school team filled with variety of different personalities and interests. However, we are a very close group and cheer for each other no matter whether we are starting or not. In fact, other coaches openly discuss the bond that our team has. My coach has told me that I help to foster that bond and display leadership and spirit no matter what the situation. I am proud of the role I play despite not always being selected to play when I think I should. I think I will be a great team member for a college team.
I think I have the character traits and the dedication to my academics and golf that a college coach would want. I have been part of my Church youth group for a number of years and am a regular Church goer. I have a close group of friends that has been together for many years. Additionally, I dedicate a lot of time to my studies to ensure my grades are as good as they can be. I have a high GPA and received a number of academic awards. With golf, I try to practice at least 5 times a week even in the winter. I see my coach once a week and the rest of the week, I am either practicing on my own or working with my trainer.
