Picked up first golf club June 1, 2021, and have been playing almost every day since. Practice every day after school and several hours over the summer. Have come a long way in a short time. Still have a lot of room for improvement but also put in a lot of hard work to reach my goals. Was a multi sport athlete lettering at Marion High School (enrollment 1100) as a freshman in Varsity Basketball and Soccer. Was also a track standout in middle school recording a 400m time of 1:04 and 800 time of 2:31 and lettered in Volleyball. Athletic highlights can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0AkGRHY6ufMeqRMKxvSPWQ/videos. Once I started playing golf I decided to focus all of my time on the sport. First season of varsity golf, as a sophomore, I was South 7 All Conference. My lowest 18 hole round was a score of 86. All of this was accomplished within the first four months of picking up the game. I was also awarded the IHSA Scholastic Achievement Award that recognizes student athletes. I currently receive golf instruction from the Golf Complex in Paducah, KY. Transferred to Agape Christian High School Fall of 2022. I am the only member of my golf team and will play a limited schedule. Agape Christian is not a member of the IHSA so I can not play any post season tournaments. Finished 2022-23 Season with 81.4 stroke average and won 6 of 8 events. Due to these restrictions, I will focus my time playing in multi day tournament on the HGJT, AJGA, Kentucky Junior Tour, and Illinois Prep Tour during the spring and summer of 2023. I am going to continue to work hard to put myself in a position to play at the college level. My brother currently plays at the collegiate level so I have utilized a lot of his planning and practicing methods to improve my game. To improve my game for 2023 I have been doing swing speed training and increased my driver swing speed to 88-90 mph. I also only play from the mens tees (5830 yds) to assist in the transition to the college level. My educational plan is to get a degree in Special Education. I have been a volunteer at the Southern Illinois Special Olympics for five years.
