When I consider a college, I am looking for the best academic fit for me above all else. I have always worked hard in school and I look forward to focusing my studies in college in my areas of interest (science and medicine). Those who know me know that I always give 110% and I take all of my responsibilities seriously. I have held straight As my entire life, but I also work hard for those grades. It's not uncommon for me to be found studying much of the weekend. I try to designate one night a week to be with friends and one night a week for family, but other than that I am either found studying, dancing or playing golf.
I joined golf in high school because, honestly, my mom insisted that I do. She gave me a choice: Cross Country or Golf. She said that getting involved in something at the school would be the best way to immerse myself in the high school experience. Once I joined the team, I knew I made the right decision. I found a family with the girls varsity golf team at my school. I've always been a dancer and have danced for 15 years, but our school does not have a competitive dance team. Therefore, I fell on a sport I had dabbled in throughout my growing up years, golf.
I've managed to improve quite a bit in golf, but that is with minimal coaching and assistance. Since I spend a lot of my time dancing, my family has always wondered what my golf game would look like if dance was not in the schedule. Well, we will likely find out in college. I do not plan to continue to dance in college. I would, however, like to continue to golf. If I had the opportunity to work with a solid coaching team, I believe my golf game would quickly improve. As any of my coaches (dance or golf) can tell you, I am a hard worker who takes feedback well and implements it immediately. I would love to find the perfect college that fits my needs academically as well as offering an opportunity to continue to progress with golf.
