My name is Ella Oakley and I go to Tinley Park High school. I was awarded for my senior year as MVP. I’ve always been known as a hard working student, I had all Honors all 3 years and always work hard to get good grades and strive to better myself. I know that school is important and so are grades and sometimes thats all students can give but if your good at both sports and academics and excel in both, its a really good feeling getting recognize something your good at which for me is Golf.
I started playing Golf freshman year at Tinley Park High school , they wouldn’t of had a team if someone didn’t join so I did and I loved it. My grandpa has taken me to many golf courses to better my game, he’s taken me to Green Garden multiple of times , Lincoln Oaks and more. When I play with him he plays from the whites , so I wanted to give it a try and I realized that I can hit pretty good with both the reds and the whites. I started getting more into the game and more confident when my grandpa knew that I’d become a really good player, so I kept pushing myself to become the player I know I can be.
At my banquet I was awarded best/longest drive and was told by my coach that I’m a natural also a competitive player. I know that I would be good for the team because not only I’m I a good player and work hard but I have fun while playing too and cheer on my team mates as well. I can’t imagine not playing golf in college.
