Becoming advanced enough to be on varsity and displaying leadership qualities to become team captain this year has been the greatest achievements in my high school golf career so far. However, it was the journey to this point I believe to be the greatest asset of my growth as an individual. I improved almost 100 strokes within three years. 170's as a freshman and today mid to low 80's. This has taught me to always be a fighter, to never give up and to remind myself that anything is possible if one puts their mind to a goal.
For the past few months, I have been fortunate enough to be a part of a team of golfers at my golf academy who all have the dream of playing collegiate golf and from this experience, I have learned that friendship and motivation not only builds individual success, but the team's accomplishments. This year especially I have also learned how crucial mindfulness is when both playing and competing. No "nay sayers," no competition and no amount of bad shots can ever deter me from succeeding with the strong and optimistic mindset I have built for myself. I am looking for a school where I can prosper to become a very well rounded person. I want to become the best student, most skilled golfer and the strongest leader I can be. My growth will come with more time and practice but my personality, devotion and passion for golf will all remain the same. I am the person you want for your team.
