Hi Coaches! My name is Ava Packett and I am from Harwich, MA. I have played golf since I was three years old and have loved it ever since. My father, who is a certified PGA golf professional and is Director of Operations at Captains Golf Course in Brewster, MA has helped shape me into the golfer I am today. My biggest supporter has been my grandmother, who has always pushed me to be the best golfer possible. It would be an amazing opportunity to be able to participate on a women's golf team at the collegiate level. I am a quick learner when it comes to new skills and am always willing to adapt. I am very excited to see where my recruitment journey takes me!
For a bit more about my golfing history, I have been on the Varsity Girl's Golf team at Monomoy Regional High School since my freshman year. I was a starter in the number 6 slot for that year and was able to become confident in my abilities to play competitively. In my sophomore year, I was elected a captain and moved to the number 3 slot. We went undefeated in the league and were granted league champions. That year we also placed second in both the Massachusetts Division 1 South Sectional and the Massachusetts State Championship. My junior year was very successful. I played in the number 1 slot and personally went 10-1-2. The team as a whole went 10-3. We made it to the South Sectional once again, but unfortunately had a rough go and did not make it through to the State Final. This year, I will be coming in once again as a captain and look forward to helping lead the team to the State Final, while also improving my own game.
