Hi, I’m Anaïs, Class of 2025. I’m a competitive golfer, and honor student athlete, eager to continue advancing my game and pursuing my academic interests in college. I've continued to set and achieve big personal goals in golf! I started off Senior Season shooting my tournament personal best of 73 (+1). I just won the 2024 District Championship on October 11th! I shot a 79 (+7) to win by two strokes on an unconventional course in Hannibal, MO. Class 3, District 2. Look how far I've come...Freshman year at Districts, I shot 120, Sophomore year 93 and qualified for State, Junior year 77 (+6) for 4th place! I went on to make All State this year, 6th Place Metalist at the State Championship, ending the season with another 73 (+1) on day two, top score that round! My HS match scoring average is 37.2.(+2.2) and tournament avg. is 77 (+5).
The first time I swung a golf club at age 13, was a beginner lesson with PGA professional Bob Gaus and he is still my swing coach today! He must have seen a glimmer of my potential and interest, when I kept coming back for lessons and practicing in between, during the St. Louis winter weather. One year later, l made the fourth spot on the Varsity team as a Freshman. Sophomore year, I won the Conference tournament and at Districts, qualified for State. In 2023, I gained a lot of experience playing in College Prep tournaments with longer distances and greater competition. The highlights of my Junior year were getting my HS match avg. down to 38.5, with a low of 34, winning the Conference Player of the Year, and shooting 77 at Districts to tie for 4th place. I continue to set and achieve BIG GOALS! Most girls I compete against started playing years before I did, this compelled me to work ten times harder. It also keeps me grounded and composed on the course. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished in such a short time and I believe that my golf journey is just getting started!
2024 Tournament highlights:
1st place HJGT College Prep Tournament at Vanderbilt Legends, TN. (84,74) 1st place Gateway PGA at Cardinal Creek, 77 (+5), tie for 1st HJGT St. Louis Summer kick off at Crescent Farms (89,79), 2nd Place MGA Summer Showcase at Rivercut, 79, 81, Springfield, MO, 3rd place Prep Tour Notah Begay Qualifier at Lincoln Greens, Springfield, IL.
Golf is my absolute passion! Time management is a challenge during the school year, but also keeps me focused. In addition to a full schedule of Honors and AP Courses, I’ve been a three sport Varsity Athlete since Freshman year. I love being part of these teams. With practices 6 days per week, my teammates are the majority of my social life and I have tremendous respect for the student athletes who are as committed to their sport as I am to golf. I was Golf Team Captain Junior and Senior years, Swim team Co-Captain Sr. year, and Co-Captain of the Co-ed water polo team as a Junior.
I’ll close with some surprising, fun facts about me. I have dual U.S. and French citizenship. I was born in the Netherlands, then lived in Indonesia for five years before moving to St. Louis at the start of middle school. I did recreational gymnastics, and Capoeira (Brazilian no-contact martial arts) but didn’t play any competitive or team sports before high school.
