Personal Statement

My parents have always pushed me to be a leader and inspire others to do the right thing. In high school, there are a lot of temptations to make bad choices and even if the consequences don’t seem as major at the time, they may come later in life. Every choice I make now affects my future, and not only do I want to succeed, but I want my friends to succeed as well. I believe that if I work hard there’s nothing I can’t do. That not only goes for golf but towards school and beyond. I’ve had some physical obstacles to overcome throughout my life and used this motto to push through and come out on top.

  • MGA Junior Match Play Tournament
  • 6/15/20 to 6/17/20
  • The first two days of the tournament were stroke play. I shot a 77 and 79 to finish 6th out of 28 girls and made the cut (took the top 16) for match play. I lost 1up in the round of 16 in a back and forth match with 4 lead changes. We played from the gold tees which were 5600 yards.
  • Camp/Event
  • Missouri Junior Tour at Heritage Hills
  • 6/11/20 to 6/11/20
  • I battled after a rough first 9 to finish with a 77 (34 on the front and 43 on the back; I started on the back 9) I tied for 2nd place out of the 15 girls in the 16-18 division. This course had no range, so I went into the tournament with only being warmed up on putting.
  • Camp/Event
  • Missouri Junior Tour at Meadowlake Acres Country Club
  • 6/08/20 to 6/08/20
  • I shot a 75 (+3) (41 and 34) to take 2nd in the girls 16-18 division. I had a rough start after being 5 over through 6 holes, but pulled it together for a back 9 score of 34 (-2) including 4 birdies. Stats for the round: Hit 13 of 18 greens; 35 putts; 4 birdies, 7 pars, and 7 bogeys.
  • Camp/Event
  • Missouri Junior Tour at Sedalia Country Club
  • 6/01/20 to 6/01/20
  • I shot a 77 (40 on the front and 37 on the back) to tie for 1st place out of 19 girls in the 16-18 female division. This was my first tournament since state (October 2019), so this was a good starting score. I hit 11 out of 18 greens in regulation but struggled on the greens with 35 putts. I hit my irons well, but it showed that my short game needs more work.
  • Camp/Event
  • MSHSAA State Championships
  • 10/21/19 to 10/22/19
  • I was honored to qualify (for the second year in a row) for the MSHSAA Class 2 Golf State Tournament at Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar. The first day unfortunately did not go well and it was not helped by wind gusts reaching 45mph. My biggest mistakes were my nearly 45 putts and hitting four balls out of bounds on my last three holes. I finished the day with a 95(I started on hole 10 and had a 44 on that nine and a 51 on my second 9 which was the front 9), my high school career-worst. My goals for day 2 were to keep it in bounds and have less than 36 putts. I kept the ball in play and into no hazards and had 35 putts including only 14 on the front 9. I shot an 85 (41 and 44) and shaved 10 strokes off my day one score and back to where I usually shoot. The winds were just as brutal the second day, making for tough playing conditions, so I was proud of myself for persevering through the tough day to come back on the second day. I ended up tying for 45th with a 180. Definitely not my best round or where I wanted to be, but it gives me great goals for next year.
  • Camp/Event
  • MSHSAA Sectional Tournament
  • 10/14/19 to 10/14/19
  • I shot a 90 (41 and 49) which is my worst score this season, but I was able to advance to the state tournament. I got into some hazards off the tee on the back 9 and three-putted a few times and that costed me my score on the back. We also played from the white tees which were collegiate distances especially for a par 70 course.
  • Camp/Event
  • MSHSAA District tournament
  • 10/07/19 to 10/07/19
  • We played from the green tees (one back from the womens). I placed 4th out of 60 golfers with an 84 (44 and 40). One of my better long-game rounds, hitting 14/18 greens, but unfortunately had an off-day on putting including 8 three-putts. I left a lot of strokes on the course, but I helped my team to a second place finish and we advanced to sectionals.
  • Camp/Event
  • Smith Cotton Invitational
  • 9/23/19 to 9/23/19
  • I finished in 15th as in Individual with an 80. The wind was strong, and that definitely affected my approach shots. Overall, I drove the ball and putted very well, but unfortunately did not hit many greens. The top teams in the state were at this tournament including St. Joseph's Academy, Notre Dame de Sion, and Rock Bridge (the top 3 teams in class 2 last year) so the competition was tough.
  • Camp/Event
  • Camdenton Quad
  • 9/19/19 to 9/19/19
  • I shot a 37 (+1) to take medalist honors in the match.
  • Camp/Event

  • I tied for 6th place out of 70 girls with an 82 (38 and 44).
  • Camp/Event
  • Match vs. Sedalia and JC
  • 9/09/19 to 9/09/19
  • We played the red tees on the front 9 (Par 35) and I had the 2nd best individual score out of all three teams with a 39. NOTE: I had personal low of 11 putts on 9 holes (7 up-and-downs)
  • Camp/Event
  • Laker Invitational
  • 9/04/19 to 9/04/19
  • This was my team's first high school event for the 2019 season. I finished 6th out of 90 girls with an 82 (38 and 44). We played the red tees.
  • Camp/Event
  • Southern States Cup
  • 7/30/19 to 7/31/19
  • I earned a spot to be one of 6 girls to play for team Missouri in the Southern States Junior Cup. I had a great experience playing against juniors from Mississippi and Alabama who have committed to schools such has auburn, Mississippi state, and Alabama. Team Missouri finished 2nd place. My male partner and I lost 3 & 1 in best ball to two auburn commits from team Alabama. We then halved our alternate shot match with Mississippi and lost 2up on the 18th hole in our alternate shot match against Alabama. The next day was singles matches. I lost 8 & 7 to a very talented player and future auburn tiger from Alabama. I lost 6 & 5 to a talented player and future college golfer from Mississippi. Overall it was the toughest competition I have ever faced and I walked away with a great experience and a bunch of ways to improve my game.
  • Camp/Event
  • Meadowlake Invitational
