Personal Statement

I see myself as a calm and observant student, but know when it is appropriate to make a statement. I know that in order to be successful, hard work is required. Academically, I take ownership in every grade I have received. My initial goal is to complete my college education in preparation for a meaningful career that is not only beneficial to myself, but others around me. I am enjoying my experience as a high school golfer and if my efforts continue to show positive results, this could open up possibilities during my time as a college student. If at some point, a college level golf coach takes an interest in my play, I would welcome this and listen to their comments. I have worked to get where I am today, both as a student and as a golfer. I am grateful to have my family to help me gain perspective on life's lessons. Thank you for viewing my statement, Payton.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsAs a Junior, I was advised that my excellent cumulative grade point average made me eligible as a National Honor Society candidate. Although not having received majority approval by the Invictus Chapter due to leadership or community service (my additional role of my helping to care for a family member with Alzheimer's and being a leading member of my school golf team was not taken into consideration), I accept their decision- I am still a hard working, well-rounded individual!
  • ActivitiesVolunteer at local cat rescue shelter twice a week, social activities with friends and maintain solid family time with parents.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
