My name is Makayla Ward, and I am currently a junior at Central Davidson High School. Gymnastics was the first sport I was introduced to. I started at the age of three, and competed for eight out of the twelve years. I have played basketball, softball, and most recently golf and track. I have been playing golf consistently for six years. Knowing that I want golf to be a part of my college experience is exciting. My academic goal is to explore the field of Nursing. I like the thought of helping people. This also includes helping encourage my teammates on and off the course. I strive both academically and athletically to achieve the goals I set for myself and to push myself no matter how hard it is. I am always taking the initiative to do more than what is required. Whether it is going to the driving range, or critiquing my golf swing in the back yard, to always being the first one to practice and the last one to leave. I show a lot of determination for meeting my goals not just during the golf season, but all year long. I was awarded the MVP for Varsity Golf both my Freshman and Sophomore year. I would love to fulfill my dreams and goals to play golf at the collegiate level.
