Personal Statement

I am an avid sports fan that has fallen in love with golf only 3-4 years ago. I've always played high level rep hockey growing up, and almost every other sport along the way. Golf was just a hobby for me in the "off season" from hockey, but working with my coach who encouraged me to try some tournaments a few years ago, I discovered the same passion I had for hockey in golf! The competing, practicing, seeing steady improvements, and just challenging myself to be better all the time is so enjoyable. I've really turned a corner to now thinking of hockey in the "off season" when I'm not golfing!

I really love being a part of a team, as I've always been a leader on successful teams growing up and would love the opportunity to work towards my dream of becoming a Veterinarian while playing competitive golf at an NCAA school. I have always been successful at balancing high-level academics with athletics, part-time work, family time and good relationships. I can't wait for the many challenges and opportunities that await my college career!

85, 5712 yards, 73.3/141, 1st place. There was some pretty good wind to deal with, but I managed 8 pars and ONE HOLE IN ONE! The hole in one was on the 16th hole, par 3, 141 yards. I played pretty well with pars and bogeys on most holes, two tough bounces led to a couple rough holes. Overall, an excellent day!

Are you in honor classes?

Yes. I maintain a 96% average in Honors (University) classes, including Math, Biology, Chemistry, English, French Immersion, Phys.Ed. (SHSM- Specialist High Skills Major), and Peer Helping (Co-op)

Are you in AP/IB classes?

Yes. We don’t have AP courses in Canada but I’m in a Phys. Ed. Specialist High Skills Major that comes with many extra certifications (First Aid, Leadership, Sports taping, Co-Op teaching, etc.) which earns a special seal on graduation degree.

Registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center?

Awards and Activities

AwardsI won the Principal’s Award for Outstanding Academics, Athletics, and overall school leadership, and was also on the Honour Roll in grade 9 and 10, and so far in grade 11. I was recently presented with the Grade 10 Math Award for highest grade at 99%. I am currently maintaining a 96% average.
ActivitiesI am currently a Peer Helper, timekeeper, was the MC for all concerts in grades 7 and 8, read the announcements for school, and was a member of the Environmental Science club.
