I played golf for the first time in November 2017, my freshmen year. I immediately fell in love with the sport and it quickly became part of my everyday routine. Since then, I’ve tried to learn as much as I can about the game. One thing I’ve learned is to be successful, it takes a strong physical game and an even stronger mental one. As important as it is for me to become a better golfer, I understand the importance of being a great student. Continuing to have a good balance between academics and athletics is how I will achieve this.
Now in my junior year and with golf season kicking off, I have set some new goals for the year to come. I will continue to develop my swing while focusing on improving my short game. In the coming months I will be averaging consistent upper 70s and by the end of summer I’m expecting mid 70s. This time next year, shooting more rounds of even par will be main goal.
I am interested in finding a college that has a great nursing or physical therapy program as well as a competitive golf team that I can make a positive contribution to. The idea of earning my degree while playing competitive collegiate golf is very exciting.
