Personal Statement

Hello! First off, thank you so much for considering me for your team! I believe I would be a great candidate for college golf because of how long I have been playing the game and how committed I am to becoming a better golfer and person in general. When I am not playing in high school golf tournaments, I am playing in STPGA (Southern Texas PGA) Junior tournaments. Usually, I play in around 8 or 9 per year. In addition to playing golf frequently, I volunteer at golf events as well. For example, I volunteered as a marshal as the 2020 U.S. Women's Open in Houston, TX. In addition to golf, academics is something that is extremely important to me. I strive for all A-Honor roll every year and have achieved that goal in my time in grade school.  I am currently a senior in high school and have been working extremely hard (just about everyday) to improve my golf game.

My current goals for 2022 are to bring my competition score average to below 80 and shoot a competitive round under par.

Thank you so much for your consideration and time!

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • District Championship
  • 3/21/23 to 3/22/23
  • Yardage: 5724 Slope: 134. Shot 91-87. It was raining and very windy both days, but overall my golf game wasn’t very good. Best part of my game was driver.
  • Camp/Event
  • Victoria Invitational
  • 3/03/23 to 3/04/23
  • Shot 83-84 on two different courses to place 10th out of 65. Played a little over average, but given that I’ve never seen one of the courses before and was getting over COVID, I didn’t play bad at all! Driver was great, short game/irons could have been better, putter was pretty good, except so many par/birdie attempts kept lipping out! While I may not have played my best golf, I still enjoyed the event!
  • Camp/Event
  • Marble Falls Classic
  • 2/03/23 to 2/04/23
  • Shot 85-80 on two different courses to place 3rd out of 69 golfers! Giving the tough course conditions I played pretty well and had a lot of good takeaways!
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Fall Championship
  • 12/10/22 to 12/11/22
  • Shot 79-83 on a course I’ve never played before (par 71, 5631 yards)! Ended up taking 4th out of some of the strongest golfers in Southern Texas! I earned an invitation to this event by being ranked 1st in the Austin metro and 5th in all of Southern Texas. Battled some tough conditions (heavy rain before day 2) but played well!
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • 8/01/22 to 8/01/22
  • Yardage: 5700 Slope: 139 This was my first time ever playing this course and it was pretty tough. Ended up with 88 to take 3rd out of 18. Overall, ball striking with my longer clubs was pretty good, but putter could have been better. Although I didn't play my best, I enjoyed playing at that course and will be back!
  • Camp/Event
  • AJGA GreatLife Challenge
  • 7/18/22 to 7/20/22
  • Shot 83 in the qualifier and 89, 83 in rounds 1 and 2. It was very windy for all three days but ball striking was pretty good for most of the tournament! Putter could have been better though. We played from the blue tees (Yardage: 5957 Par: 71)
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • 7/06/22 to 7/06/22
  • Shot 78 to win by 7! Slope was 140 and yardage was 5650. Great score for a tough course!
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • 6/27/22 to 6/28/22
  • Shot 82, 88. Had some trouble with all irons, but my driver and putter were working well both days. Course played pretty long, but was in good shape.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • 6/13/22 to 6/13/22
  • Shot 81 and placed 3rd out of 16. Had a couple of driver issues, but other than that I played really well!
  • Camp/Event
  • Varsity School Tournament
  • 2/18/22 to 2/19/22
  • Day 1 at Lighthouse: 89 Day 2 at Hidden Falls: 82 for 171 total. Got 2nd place. Lighthouse was in really bad shape as the fairways and greens were hard and rocky. My long game was good for the conditions, but my short game wasn't great. Hidden Falls was in great shape and my short game was working pretty well. Long irons could have been slightly better, but this round was good for a tough course!
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • 2/13/22 to 2/13/22
  • Shot 77 and won!!! Made 3 birdies, two of which were on my final two holes!
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Prestige Tour
  • 1/29/22 to 1/30/22
  • Yardage: 5800 Slope: 132 Day 1: 81 (pretty good day, everything was working except for a few pulled long irons). Day 2: 92 (woke up with knee pain, long clubs were good, but I couldn't make any putts or hit any close wedges). Part of Srixon Prestige Tour
  • Camp/Event
  • Davenport Invitational
  • 11/12/21 to 11/13/21
  • New personal best! Shot 78 (+7), 73 (+2) with 1 birdie on day one and 3 in a row on day two (16, 17, 18). Hit 11 greens on day 1 and 14 on day two. Placed 2nd out of 48.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Championship
  • 8/04/21 to 8/05/21
  • This tournament was an Invitational, the top 7 girls from the Austin metro got invited (I finished ranked 5th). Day one was good, scored 83 from 5700 yards. Felt physically off on day two, but decided to play anyways and take more risky shots than I would normally play (ones I never play or get the chance to practice). Ended up with 94 on day two.
  • Camp/Event
  • District Championship
  • 3/29/21 to 3/30/21
  • Shot 92 and 97. Game felt good on the first day, but when the wind picked up on day 2, didnt feel very confident about the swing. Played from 5800 yards.
  • Camp/Event
  • Varsity School Tourament
  • 2/23/21 to 2/23/21
  • Had a good day on the course despite the tough and windy conditions. Shot 88 (44,44). Aside from some iron accuracy issues and a few lipped putts, everything felt good!
  • Camp/Event
  • Marble Falls Invitational
  • 2/05/21 to 2/06/21
  • 4th school tournament of 2020-21 season. Shot 87 (front nine 39, back nine 48) at Hidden Falls. 50 (on 9) on Lakecliff. At Lakecliff, bunker game caused a lot of issues. Drive was off as well. First 9 hole score in the 30s ever! Everything was pretty good, had a couple drives that went a little too far right, putter was on, wedges were decent, and irons were great at Hidden Falls! Need to do work on the wedges a little at range.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 81 and placed 4th out of 15 in my age group with 12 pars and 1 birdie. Hit 12 fairways, 7 greens, and made 34 putts. Good day overall, but found myself scrambling a lot.
  • Camp/Event
  • Hays CISD Invitational
  • Shot 79 and placed t-10 out of around 75. Hit 8 greens, 8 fairways, and had 32 putts. Overall it was a good day!
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 82 (+10) with 12 pars. Hit 11 greens and 10 fairways. Ball striking with driver and irons was amazing, but the putter felt off.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Not the best day. Shot 90 from a little under 6000 yards. That course was tough too! My long distance wedge game was probably the best part of my game that day, as well as bunker game as I got up and down from both bunkers I hit in to.
  • Camp/Event
  • Srixon Prestige Tour (STPGA)
  • Yardage: 5850 Par: 71 Score: 169 (86, 83 over two days). Game was decent for the 100 degree heat we played in! Short game could have been much better, but everything else was good!
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 76 with 1 birdie and no doubles to win the event by 7!
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 84 and won! Yardage: 5700
  • Camp/Event
  • High School Team Scramble
  • Shot 67 as a 3 man team! Really good day for me, as my driver and irons were working really well. Putter was good as well.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Yardage: 5600 Score: 92 Conditions were tough (20mph winds on a tight course) but my game felt alright for most of the day. Had a few issues with driver and irons, but my short game was pretty good!
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 83 from 5400 yards. Placed 2nd out of the 15-18 division. Made 2 birdies during this round.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 86 and placed 3rd from 5400 yards. The course was very tough, and I have never played this course before, so I am satisfied with the result.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 81 from 5700 yards. Placed 4th out of 18. Decent day, started with 38 on the front but slipped a little on the back. Hit 13 fairways, 6 greens, and made 33 putts including those from off the green.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot an 85 and won the event! Course was very difficult, as the slope was set around 138. We played from 5700 yards as well. Hit 5 greens, 11 fairways, and made 36 putts (including those from off the green).
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 79 (first time breaking 80). Placed T-1. Played from green tees. 9 fairways hit, 9 greens hit, 33 putts made.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 91. Course played extremely long (at least 6200 yards). Could have gone lower if the putter was working better. Driver and 3 wood were great
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 82 and placed 6th. Everything felt great! Made 9 pars, hit 8 fairways and 8 greens in regulation.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Canceled due to rain
  • Camp/Event
  • Texan Invitational
  • Shot 85 and placed 3rd out of 59 girls. For no warm-up and never seeing the course before, I played very well with the exception of some 3 putts here and there.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Score: 90 (5th of 16 girls). Course played really long (probably around 6100 or 6200). Irons were working perfectly, driver accuracy was good, distance could have been better, lag putting was great but had a few missed opportunities up close to the pin, wedges needed some work.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 105. Course was the hardest course I have played in a really long time. Pin placements were in difficult spots (plus I could putt well at all). Fairways and rough were in poor shape. Irons were off all day. However, I was driving the ball alright and my wedges were on fire! It was really windy (over 22mph all day) and I definitely could have lowered my score a lot if the putter was working. Need to practice a lot more pressure putts and putts within 6 feet with a lot of brake.
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot a new best of 72 and won! Ended up in a tie for 1st and went to a sudden death playoff where I won on the 1st hole with a par! Two birdies today. Very consistent game today!!
  • Camp/Event
  • STPGA Junior Tour
  • Shot 78 from 5600 yards. Had 4 birdies in this round.
