My primary goal is to become a stronger person not just physically but also mentally. I am attempting to become a pediatrician, and like golf it can have many ups and downs. I am resilient and patient, and I can promise you that I’ll give it my all to succeed. Starting my sophomore year I am the low scorer on the Girls Varsity golf team at Arlington Heights High School. Not only have I played golf since I was eight years old but I have also played volleyball, basketball, and cross country. I am equally focused in academics as I am in athletics, I have achieved honor roll every time, and my GPA is currently at 4.1. I also play violin, and surprisingly I find it similar to golf, it requires hours of your time every day and the more you practice the better you become. The difference between me and other players is that I am not a one trick pony. I have multiple skills and fully understand that achievements aren’t just given to you, you have to work hard and earn them. I have been with the First Tee of Fort Worth for eight years now and I’ve discovered that golf isn’t always about winning or losing, but about learning and adjusting to better yourself and others. I would be a great candidate for the team because not only do I encourage myself, but also my teammates to maintain a positive mindset. Positivity is key for becoming a confident and stronger person.
