After a middle school golf program was started at my school as a part of our athletics course, I was instantly captivated by the sport. Six years later, I am still in love with the sport that has provided me with many memories and lessons, and which I know has more in store.
My junior year of high school I persevered through an ankle injury to become TAPPS 1a State Champion. Becoming state champion and placing in the top three the previous two years of high school has taught me a lot about my strengths but also my weaknesses.
These victories showed me how a strong work ethic, dedication and lots of determination lead to the accomplishment of one's goals. However, golf has challenged my mental game which I thought I had perfected in fourteen years of gymnastics, four of which I served as captain. Moving forward, I continue to work on both my physical and mental game as I aspire to reach the top of my class in school and towards new opportunities in college golf.
