Personal Statement

Hi,

My name is Marianna Rodriguez.  I started playing golf in the 7th grade and instantly fell in love with the sport.   My freshman year I was extremely excited to make the varsity team.   I have been working hard to improve each year.  I am grateful for the coaching and guidance of my high school coach and a golf instructor.  With their help I have seen my scores fall and my driving distance improve; I am currently able to drive 180+ with my driver.  I am also currently hitting with my 5W 160 yards off the fairway.  I was able to achieve my first goal of breaking a 100 during my freshman year. I am currently playing in the low 90's and mid 80's.  My initial summer goal was to break the 90's by the end of summer.  I was able to reach that goal at the end of June by shooting 85.  My goal is now to break the 80's in time for district.  I am continually working to improve my score and improve my understanding of the game.  I am an extremely hard worker and listen very well to coaching and criticism.  I am looking for the opportunity to continue playing golf after high school and being able to contribute to a team.
