My name is Emma Iles and I just finished my Junior year at Texas City High School. My Junior Season was very productive. I had a 1st place finish at the Crosby ISD Invitational shooting 74. At the UIL District 5A Championship I was Runner Up with scores of 85/78. At the UIL Regional 5A Championship I placed 6th with scores of 79/76. At the UIL 5A State Championship I placed T30th with scores of 79/80. I’m looking forward to my upcoming senior year and with continued hard work it I’m confident that it will be very successful. I also compete in the STPGA Prestige and Junior Golf Tours year round. My sophomore golf season was very productive, I won the TAPPS 4A District Championship, runner up at the Regional Championship, and placed 4th at the State Championship. I was 1st team All District and 1st Team All State . Our softball team also had a successful season and I made 1st Team All District and 2nd Team All State. For volleyball I made 2nd Team All District. I feel that I have a very strong work ethic when it comes to improving my golf game and academics. I give 100% while continuing to learn and grow, gaining knowledge from my swing coach and those around me. I am very coachable and able to take constructive criticism and able to implement those changes/adjustments to improve my golf game and myself. Right now I am currently shooting scores in the low 80’s / high 70’s with continued work and goals I have set for myself I hope to be consistently shooting in the 70’s by years end. I will be transferring to Texas City High School in the fall and will only be playing golf. I made this decision so I could solely focus on improving my golf game and becoming the best player I can possibly be.
