My collegiate goal is to get my Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and a minor in education and continue for my masters. I want to teach secondary mathematics. Being a student-athlete academics is as important as the sport I play. I feel in love with golf my freshman year being able to control my outcome was the most rewarding for myself and as a teammate. Supporting others during there match and working together to better our teams. It was unfortunate that our golf team wasn’t able to compete last year due to COVID - I have been working hard this spring/summer to improve my game. Driving the ball, second shots, short game and game management playing either aggressive or safe.
I am a three sport athlete I play golf, basketball and swimming.
My most memorable moment was in my freshman year I qualified for districts, this was my first time ever playing the sport. Golf has many similarities to the other sports I play the most important one is how much of a mental game it is. I learned how to remain focused during my match and not let my frustration get to my head and take me out of the game.
It helped me as a teammate to be encouraging when I saw others struggling or getting frustrated.
For basketball, I was on an all freshman team and played mainly point guard, last year on JV I played multiple position. For my club team I was on the premiere team for KMBA. I played shooting guard, center, power forward and small forward. I am a versatile player I would play anywhere the coach needed me. I averaged about 6 points per game for my club team and for high school I averaged about 12 points per game. I’m not a selfish player, I focus more on the team then myself. Sometimes I was needed more in defense so I would pick up on defense, if it was offense I would pick up my game on offense.
I am a coachable athlete - my Jv basketball coach needed me to play forward last year. She helped me develop my game as a short post player guarding taller players.
