Personal Statement

To whom it may concern:

Hello, my Name is Halle Hauer and I am a sixteen year old junior from River Falls High School located in River Falls, WI.   I wanted to express my interest and desire to learn more about your program.  I am very active in competitive golf and have a strong desire to play at a high level while attending college.  My interest and desire to compete in golf started when I was 11 years old.  Having grown up in a golf community living in Troy Burne in Hudson Wisconsin, golf was easily accessible and was always an activity our family did together.  As I matured in life and the game, I have learned several important dynamics of this game and how it is meant to be played. With golf, I continue to grow learning how to be a stronger person through this sport both on and off the course. This game has taught me much more than just the fundamentals of how to succeed through competition, it has taught me the skills that I have transferred into my everyday life. Because of golf I have improved my skills in time manage, my work ethic and developed a strong  sense of how to persevere.  My tenacity to fight through setbacks has allowed me to get back up and work even harder to get what I want in life. To play D1 golf would make all of my hard work worth it. I believe in working hard for the goals one wants to achieve and I have committed to putting in double the work required to make my dream of playing D1 golf that much closer in reach.

I am very motivated both in sports and academics.  I find interest in a variety of topics such as; engineering, art, society, and worldly things such as travel and current news. My hope is that golf can help me to become enrolled in a reputable college to further enhance my skills for the future.  The college that accepts me will gain a hard worker who will be 100 percent committed to improving always.  As an individual that sets the bar high, I am highly driven at exceeding goals that I set for myself.  I am a person who will be able to adapt to any challenge thrown at them.  I am a confident and persistent individual who can juggle the pressures of school, sports and life challenges.  I realize the importance of hard work and pride myself on the fact that I am an individual that works hard for things in life and I do not expect things to be handed to me by anyone including my parents.  This is what I am strong at and I will work hard until the task gets done.  In the game of golf, I am currently at the point where all of my hard work over the years is starting to come together.  There certainly have been times where my scoring on the course did not reflect my true capabilities. This pushed me all the further to fine tune the areas of my game that needed work.  I like to push myself to do even better and this game has been good to allow me to struggle to push me to work that much harder.  Through my swing coach professional Brent Snyder, I have been able to consistently improve my swing and gain the confidence in the instruction and the solid swing that has developed under his coaching and instruction.   I have been on the High School Varsity team since I was a freshman.  Even as a freshman, I was considered a leader on the team, not only because of my golf skills but because of my hard work ethic and positive attitude.  I naturally lead in group environments simply through example. I love playing with a team and truly enjoy accomplishing goals for the team.  My people skills are very good and I enjoy working toward a goal as a group as well as individually.  I hope to share with you more of my results in upcoming tournaments this spring along with my upcoming High School season.  I am looking forward to being captain of the golf team for a second year.  We have had good results in past seasons and I am looking forward to a best year yet to come.  I easily adapt to meeting and working with new people.  I would certainly appreciate the opportunity to learn more about your golf program and what is important to you in choosing new members to your team.   I have enclosed a video for you to review and my profile along with tournament play and scoring are also available on the NCSA recruiting site.

I hope to have the opportunity to be in contact with you more in the near future.  In the meantime, if you have any questions, I would love to chat.  Below are various ways in which I can be reached.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Halle Hauer
