I am hard working and put 100% effort into everything that I am looking to accomplish. I put in the time and effort on and off the softball field. I give all I have into all aspects of my life including every practice, game, and class. I push myself to the limit, and I don’t give up or back down when difficulties come knocking at the door. I drive myself to be one percent better everyday and am always looking to progress and learn. I am coachable. I listen to all the corrections and feedback I get from coaches in order to make myself a better player. I then work that much harder to fix my mistakes and improve my playing. In addition, I am a team player. I build up and support my teammates as they become family.
I am not only a hard worker on the field, but also in school and other aspects of life. I am well rounded as I am an honor roll student and participate in multiple sports, clubs, and partake in a variety of community service opportunities. For school, I am enrolled in honors and AP courses with a 3.8 GPA. For sports, in addition to softball, I am a competitive gymnast and compete at a level of XCEL diamond (equivalent to level 8). Within my school, I participate in many clubs including Best Buddies and Unified Sports which focuses on helping and making individuals with disabilities feel included. On top of that, I am a member of the Student Council, a class officer, and a member of Interact Club which focuses on community service. I also coach recreational gymnastics (ages 3-12) as a part of community service and in total have earned over 100 hours of service and plan to continue to expand that total.
Academics and sports is just my beginning because I have a passion for marine biology. I have completed marine biology internships, including one in Stamford, CT for Soundwaters Research Intensive Program where I collected data and created a presentation of my findings and conclusions. This summer I will be participating in a shark field experience in Florida with Ocean First Institute. For college, I aspire to pursue a degree in marine biology and continue my studies to obtain a PHD in marine and shark biology with a minor in oceanography.
