I would like to join your team because I am interested in continuing my competitive gymnastics career into college. I love how women’s gymnastics teams are always cheering for each other, acting as one, and supporting each other. I believe I would be a good asset to the school because I strive for straight A’s, take advanced placement classes, and I am currently in four National Honor Societies. This year I will join three more Honor Societies.
I believe that I would be a good asset to your gymnastics team because I am a strong, hardworking, determined, and dedicated gymnast. One example of my strength and determination is when I fractured and dislocated both of my elbows at a competition in late 2020. After emergency surgery I was back at the gym 2 days later. I conditioned my abs and legs until I was cleared to use my arms. I started strengthening my arms with physical therapy only two weeks post-operation, and was in the gym full time only one month after I broke my elbows. I was able to compete at one regular competition and at states before the end of that season. It was harder to get past fear after I broke my arms, but I pushed through and I ended up getting all of my skills back and gained more difficult skills.
The experience demonstrates my leadership through determination to be in the gym, and also improved my ability to help my teammates get through injuries and fears. I am a leader at my gym by being a coach; I love coaching and helping younger gymnasts grow and fall in love with gymnastics as they gain new skills. I would love to bring my determination and spirit to your gymnastics team!
