Melody Hawkins '24 Recruiting Profile

I stared my competitive gymnastics career in Dubai UAE and have returned to the US to pursue my goal of making a college team.   I feel this experience has helped me prepare for a college team as I’ve already experienced traveling long distances every weekend to compete, podium training, the pressure of competing against highly skilled gymnast all over the world.   I also adapt quickly to new training styles and coaches as I have trained with elite coaches from all over the world.  I was selected as member of Sam Peszek’s 2021 Beam Team for her summer camp Beam Queen Bootcamp.  I am also a brand ambassador for several gymnastics companies which has given me experience in navigating social media and press.  I would like to major in excercise science/ kinesiology to continue my career as a coach.  I am highly motivated and feel I can handle the pressure that comes with college and gymnastics as I am currently training/competing, working as the head coach of the  USAG level 2 team at my gym, and still maintaining all A/Bs in Honors and AP classes.
