Azlynn Heverly '24 Recruiting Profile

“My goal is to attend a university where I can major in Nursing or Pre-Physical Therapy.  It is my dream to compete gymnastics at the collegiate level.  In 2018, after having an amazing level 7 season making the PA All-Star team and being flown to Oregon, I rolled my ankle right before leaving for a competition in Texas as a level 8.  Unfortunately, I was given bad advice, competed on my rolled ankle, and this paved the way for multiple recurrences of this.  In 2020 (Covid year), my parents and I made the determination to fly to one of the top surgeons in the country in November to fix my ankle so I didn't have anymore problems.  Flash forward to 2022, this was my first season competing after being off for a year.  I have included this bit of information to show you that I am strong and I have persevered.  My determination to be the best gymnast that I can be is even stronger as I have added more and more skills this summer.  My work ethic is one characteristic that sets me apart from other.  I will be the gymnast on the team that takes more turns, especially when I want to accomplish a goal or overcome a frustration I am having with a skill.  I am also a teammate that will another teammates' biggest supporter and cheerleader.  I am looking for a gymnastics team that will become my second family and support my work-ethic, perseverance, creativity , and encouraging personality so I can continue to grow and succeed as a student and an athlete"
