Hi I’m Mackenzie and I am currently a Senior at West Haven High School. As the Country struggles with the challenges that 2020 has brought us, I have been working with the City of West Haven Youth Hockey to build their first all girls U19 hockey team in over ten years. With girls spanning 13 to 18 years old with varying degrees of ability we will struggle but we will find victories in every outcome. Personally I have added private instruction with the coaches from I Play Hockey (IPH) to help get myself ready for college level hockey. I’ve been playing hockey for about ten years now, starting out as a forward and then transitioning to defense. I’ve been a starting defender for the West Haven/Sacred Heart varsity hockey team for three years and anticipate to continue this year.
I am a three sport athlete also playing at the varsity level in lacrosse and soccer. For lacrosse, due to my speed, I play midfield mostly but have demonstrated strength at both attack and defense. I am currently the starting goalie and Captain on the soccer team. I’ve been told that I have natural athletic ability and I look forward to putting that to the test at the college level.
In addition to sports, I hold two jobs, am the Student Representative to the Board of Education, Class President for the Senior Class, play two instruments in the school band, and am a Peer Advocate. I also compete regularly in pageants. All while maintaining a challenging course load of Honors and AP classes with a high GPA and membership in the National Honor Society.
My current plan is to obtain a Bachelors degree in Business or Finance and then go on to obtain a Law Degree. I look forward to talking with Coaches about how I might help your program and what you can do for me. Stay safe and Healthy this year, Mack
