My name is Grendel Sprong and I am a junior at Wood River High School located in Hailey, Idaho. I have been playing hockey since I was 5 years old and playing goalie since 6th grade. I take the term "Student-Athlete" very literal and know that school always comes first. I have a GPA of 3.90 and a weighted GPA of 4.0. During my 2020-21 season, I had 22 shutouts and roughly 35-40 games within both my teams (local and travel). My team Idaho team qualified for nationals in Littleton Colorado and got third. I hope to play hockey in college and major in biology because I want to become an orthodontist.
I strive to be a leader on and off the ice. I am the captain of Team Idaho and I make sure that I make everyone feel welcome. Since I was born I have been taught not to judge, help people when they need it, include everyone, and the golden rule, treat people the way you want to be treated. These are rules that I believe in very strongly and I follow them every day.
