My name is Ali Pizzillo and I am in the class of 2025. My father has always been a big hockey fan since I was a kid and it rubbed off on my enough that I started playing when I was 8. It’s always been a part of my life and during high school, I started working harder to improve my game and prepare for higher level hockey. The fast pace, strategy, and teamwork aspect have kept me playing for the last 8 years and continue to enamor me to this day.
Along with playing NCAA hockey, I plan to major in physics or chemistry and minor in the other in college. My choice of major will be the biggest factor in my college search, but hockey will continue to be a large part of my decision. Playing at a collegiate level is extremely important to me and I’m prepared to put in the extra work required to make that a reality.
I’m very strong in the mental aspect of the game, particularly in my positioning. My biggest struggles are in the more physical parts of the game such as shot strength and speed, but I continue to work hard outside of practice to improve myself for the game. I put in the effort to be approachable to my teammates and open to being coached. Along with playing hard, I ensure I have a balance in my life between hockey, family, and school so I can stay focused when wearing my teams colors.
