I’ve been playing hockey since I was 8 years old and I’ve loved it since the first day. Whenever I play I’m always told that I have a big smile on my face when I’m on the ice. Being on a team and working together to score goals adds to the enjoyment of the sport. I also play tennis, but there is more energy and the game is more fast paced in hockey which is something I enjoy. I’ve played on multiple town teams and club teams but I’ve also sought more one on one training over the years to improve my skills. I want to help young kids become more interested in hockey which is why I helped coach the Tykes program in my town, to try and encourage more girls to play hockey. I envision myself playing college hockey in some shape or form whether that is for the school team or club, I want to play hockey for as long as I can.
School and furthering my education are very important to me. The subject I am the most interested in is Biology because you are learning about the inner workings of living things. I’m especially interested in genetics because you can see patterns in DNA between different species and you can use this information to improve the lives of living things. Having to balance school and hockey can be challenging but staying organized helps a lot. I am a very hard worker in the classroom as well as on the ice which I think is the key to being a good student athlete.
