What was my parents dropping me off at age 7 to learn to skate unforeseeably turned into a lasting love for the game of hockey.
I played for my local travel team (Concord Capitals), then moved onto a regional travel team (New England Wildcats-still playing split season) and then to high school varsity hockey starting as a freshman (Div 1 Concord High School).
Through my ongoing development I have been recognized for my leadership skills, work ethic and dedication. My freshman year I was given the Coaches Award which recognizes "work ethic and determination throughout the season". As a sophomore I was named assistant team captain. This past year as a junior I led the team in goals scored and total points. I was named Division 1 first team forward by the New Hampshire High School Hockey Coaches Association. I was selected by the Concord Monitor as Division 1 Girls Hockey Player of the Year.
Away from hockey, I am co-captain of the Concord girls varsity tennis team. I am a member of student government and the presidential campaign club. Academically I finished this year with a 4.0 GPA and was inducted into the National Honors Society. Outside of school, I am a volunteer mentor for the Friends Program which is a nonprofit community betterment organization.
I believe my proven characteristics of leadership, strong dedication to teamwork and constant drive for excellence would make me a valuable member of your team. I aspire to grow as a person, teammate and hockey player by continuing to pursue the sport I love at a college level.
