I started playing hockey at the age of seven. I know I started late, but I am very passionate about the game. I watched hockey a lot as a kid with my parents, and that family time made me realize my love for the game. It took a lot of work including learning how to skate and keeping up with the other players on my team, but I am willing to do anything to play hockey. I want to improve myself as both a hockey player and as a person. Through hockey I realized that I can do anything if I put my mind to it. I learned how to best manage my time with the busy hockey schedule which didn’t just make my life easier, but it also made me a better person. I am a very positive, well-rounded, determined person. I am committed, willing to learn, and extremely coachable. I have a good work ethic. I believe if I am early, I am on time and if I am on time, I am late.
I hold myself to a very high standard both athletically, and academically. My academic goals include being the valedictorian of my class in high school, and to succeed in picking up a third language. In college I hope to follow my passion for hockey and my career passions. Hockey is a big team game and while playing I have learned that it is important that everyone feels welcome. I see my hockey team as my second family, and the ice rink as my second home.
