Im a 5’4 110 lb student-athlete playing hockey since I was 4. I started playing as a left wing for boys travel hockey at the age of 7 at the Greater New York Stars but I left my first year of Peewees and started playing defense at the New York Aviator Hockey Club who I am currently playing for now. My second year of Bantams, I started transitioning to girls hockey and now I play center part time for the Princeton Tigerlilies. The love I have for this game, the teams I play for and the camaraderie is where my passion for ice hockey comes from.
I have 3 goals that I strive for: competing in national championships which I have achieved by attending the USA National player development camp in Miami, Ohio this year; earning a scholarship to play at the Division I level one day; and pursuing a career in professional hockey. I worked hard to get to my first goal and will find a way to persevere in college hockey through an athletic scholarship so long as I remain consistent and focused on my longer term goals.
What makes me a great hockey player and candidate for schools is how well I skate and my confidence in decision-making as a defenseman. I started taking private lessons every week since I was 11 and I dedicated time to perfecting my edges on the ice. My hard work and determination paid off as it not only improved my skating technique but also enhanced my overall performance with other skills on the ice such as my deception and patience with the puck. As long as one can be a great skater and hockey IQ is intelligent then all the skills as a hockey player can come along. I believe a good ice hockey player can always work on their craft and open our minds to smart and strategic playmaking. My commitment to practicing my edges has helped me excel in other aspects of the ice making me a well-rounded, versatile and confident player.
What sets me apart from other players on the ice is my work ethic. I consistently give 110% in every practice and game, pushing myself to the limit to make myself and my team better. Selfishness is not in my vocabulary; I always look for the best option, not for me, but for my team to keep us competitive. My dedication, discipline, and relentless pursuit of improvement makes me a standout player. I love the intensity and competitiveness of hockey as well as the amazing environment I share with my teammates. Given the opportunity to excel I know I will reach my goal of playing Division I hockey on a scholarship one day.
