My passion for hockey has been growing since I was about nine years old. Now I will be honest when I say I got into the game pretty late as I only started playing goalie full-time at age twelve after three years as a defenceman. With that being said I don't believe it has affected me very much. I train almost every single day whether it be on or off of the ice. It doesn't matter if I don't feel well or if I am sore from the days before. I don't do that just to be the best or to get into schools, I do it because I love it. But hockey isn't the only thing I am interested in. I really enjoy school and I take pride in my grades. Schoolwork always comes first no matter what (even over hockey). I will do my homework or study in the car if need be and I will always get my assignments in on time. My greatest hope is to be able to be on the career path I want while playing hockey as well. I want to pursue biomedical engineering or oncology as my post-secondary education. I am competitive and driven in everything I do. I rise above expectations to prove my worth. I love playing hockey and that is the bottom line. I leave it all on the ice every time I play.
