Mikayla Kalverda '21 Recruiting Profile

It has been my goal to play University/College hockey ever since I first started playing hockey as a kid. I have been playing hockey my whole life and I am determined to challenge myself and to play the highest level of hockey possible. I have been working very hard towards this goal in hope that I will someday be able to accomplish it. As a hockey player, I have the size and strength needed to battle in the corners and to move people out from in front of the net. I excel at winning battles along the boards, quickly moving the puck upwards and making a crisp hard first pass. Playing one on ones is well within my comfort zone, as I love being able to block opponents out and successfully stop them from entering our end. Although speed is not my greatest skill, I continue to challenge myself to improve this as I think that it is a crucial skill for high level hockey.
