I graduated High School in June 2020. My original intention was to return to high school and play 1 more year of Varsity. However we were informed that there would be a very slim chance of there being a High School hockey season due to COVID-19. I am currently enrolled at the University of Manitoba. I was registered to play in the MJWHL - however with all of my courses on line I am not living in Manitoba which has now eliminated my opportunity to play in the league due to COVID-19I will be playing Club hockey at home with my OWHA team as well as the Womens league. I am continuing to work out on my own and also at the gym In order to keep my skill level up.
I have been playing hockey since I was 6 years old, and my love and passion for the sport has grown a lot over the last couple of years. I am a dedicated, enthusiastic and hard working team member and work my hardest each and every time I am on the ice. I am very competitive in nature and have a desire to be the best I can be. I am an extremely athletic and driven teammate whom only wants the best for her team.
I played on my High School Girls Varsity squad for 3 years. My winter hockey years prior to now were spent playing with the LWGH AA Travel teams. I have played AA, AAA and club hockey over the last 12 years and have played on numerous Selects/Elite teams. I feel that I have many strengths that benefit every team I play for, and I continue to learn new things from each and every coach and teammate. During the summer I play with 19U and 16U AAA teams out of Minnesota.
I pride myself on being a play maker, who sees the ice and is able create opportunities for my teammates. As a result I feel my play supports and enhances those around me. I have been told that my skating ability and keen hockey sense are 2 of my most valued skills. I am a very unselfish teammate, as I feel that every member of my team needs to contribute in order to be successful. In previous years, I have been a Captain and Assistant Captain. This was a privilege that I took very seriously and it helped me to gain numerous leadership and communication skills.
I play a variety of other sports as well - Varsity Soccer, Varsity Volleyball, Beach Volleyball and Varsity Track & Field.
I would like to attend College and study Criminal Justice and would love to also play Hockey. I have worked very hard to get to where I am and will continue to improve all aspects of my game over the next year leading up to college.
