I have been playing ice hockey since I was five. I fell in love with the game as soon as I stepped on the ice and have loved it ever since.
I started out playing for the St. Thomas Panthers then made the move to London, Ontario to play AA hockey for the London Devilettes and most recently I made the Bluewater Hawks Women's Junior team. I am a right handed defenseman. As a defenseman, I especially love joining the rush and skating the puck. Whether I am at practice or playing a game, I am always striving to do my best, to improve, adapt and be a leader on and off the ice.
From a very early age I have always been involved in sports. I have played and still enjoy participating in soccer, basketball, volleyball, field hockey, golf, tennis and ice hockey. In high school I have played on a number of sports teams: Junior Girls Basketball, Girls Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Field Hockey and Girls Varsity Hockey. For the Girls Varsity Hockey Team, I received the Rookie of the Year award in grade 9 and in grade 10 I was named the team MVP.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high average. I have been an honour student in grades 9 and 10 and I expect to continue to be on the honour roll this year and in grade 12.
I have always wanted to attend a University/College that would push me and challenge me academically, as well as physically on the ice. I am a very coachable athlete. I welcome constructive criticism, it helps encourage me as I push myself to continually improve and reach my full potential.
